In this way, your use of CarbonBetter electricity generates clean energy that goes onto the power grid for all to use, which neutralizes your personal environmental impact. Your investment in these clean energy projects is critical to putting more and more clean energy on the power grid, so we can kick the dirty stuff off for good. And it doesn’t stop there – CarbonBetter plans also plant trees, which work to capture existing carbon in the air while creating oxygen for us to breathe.

When you start on your Provision CarbonBetter natural gas plan, we go to work for you by purchasing carbon offset credits that match the amount of carbon released by your natural gas use. In this way, you have neutralized the carbon footprint from your natural gas use, and you’ve helped fund projects that work to reduce carbon in the atmosphere. But we don’t stop there – we also plant trees to capture carbon, taking you from carbon neutral to CarbonBetter.

We partner with non-profit reforestation organizations that collaborate with the US Forest Services, state and local governments, and private landowners in the US and abroad to identify areas that are ideal for planting and long-term growth. One such partnership is with the Kokrobitey Institute and OKO Forests in Kumasi, Ghana to co-fund the development of a community agroforest in an area adjacent to the Kogyae Strict Nature Reserve. These plantings will not only deliver a lifetime of carbon sequestration, but they also create dignified work and cash crops for local communities. We also partner with the National Forest Foundation, which plants in America’s national forest system, and Green Forests Work, which restores forests on formerly mined lands in Appalachia.
